Rape, the Most Intimate of Crimes

I read this article and I’m a mixture of bloody terrified and absolutely enraged. Society absolutely turns a blind eye to rape and more specifically to the rapists themselves. Women are expected to take every precaution to keep themselves safe from rape and even that isn’t enough. The anti-rape condom is looking better and better these days.
I still don’t understand why we aren’t looking for solutions geared toward rapists rather than victims. It’s nonsense to tell women that rape doesn’t happen because their actions are faulty, then to instruct them how to stop it from happening. To quote the article, a good first step (that should have already been taken) is enforcing stronger punishment for sex crimes.
